Thomas E. Ungar, MD, MEd, CCFP, FCFP, FRCPC, DABPN. 

Dr. Thomas Ungar is a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto, with leadership experience as former Psychiatrist-in-Chief at St. Michael’s Hospital, Unity Health Toronto, and former Chief of Psychiatry and Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee at North York General Hospital. He has clinical experience as a family physician, addiction medicine provider and Canadian and US Board certified specialist in psychiatry. He is a scholar and thought leader using human centered design methods to improve quality of care addressing Equity and systemic implicit bias of Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders. As part of the Mental Health Commission of Canada’s structural stigma,research team https://www.mentalhealthcommission.ca/English/structural-stigma his work includes creation of original Design Prototypes for Measuring Structural Stigma in Health Care Settings. He is an award-winning educator, communicator, media contributor and creator including the Reality TV style web-series Think You Can Shrink?
